Anniken Lien is a Norwegian director living in Oslo. From an early age she showed a strong interest in art. She began her fine art studies by attending Parson’s School of Art in Paris, The Art League in New York and then Scuolo Lorenzo de’Medici in Florence, Then she moved back to Norway and studied 4 years at the Royal Academy of Arts in Oslo. Her amazing eye for people and a desire to bring them to life led her to further her education by attending the London International Film School.
After graduating Anniken directed a short film which was immediately bought and broadcast on NRK- National television in Norway. This short film helped land her a gig at MTV and her directing career began.
Soon Anniken made commercials in Norway and all over Europe. She continued to gain recognition as a director with spots for clients such as Fenjal and Kangaroo; both campaigns gained her prestigious Epica awards. She also won a Bronze for one of the Fenjal spots entitled “Hotel Lobby” from the European Director’s Club. Norwegian Pollution Control entitled “Drink” was shortlisted at Cannes.
Anniken has directed over 150 commercials for international clients like Volkswagen, Beiersdorf, Kraft food, Ferrero, L´oreal, and Nestle etc. Anniken also did 20 films on a worldwide campaign for Lego. During 6 years working for Lego with 3 of their biggest brands for kids she also developed skills for 3D and 2D animation.
Anniken is currently working on a romantic comedy script and has for the last years studied dramaturgy with New York University Professor, author and writing couch Marilyn Horowitz and with world reknowed script writer Jeff Kitchen in Los Angeles.
